Habitat Notes Tropical origins. 70-75 species some thought to be endemic to the Hawaiian islands. These vines have usually bright pea-flowers which are pollinated by insects such as solitary bees and carpenter bees. (Found in the fossil pollen record of KAO3 from Rano Kao, Rapa Nui (Easter Island) Gossen, 2010).
