Habitat notes | Scientific Synonymy Pritchardia pacifica var. marquisensis, Pritchardia pacifica var. samoensis. Originating from Tonga, Fiji islands, but now widely introduced to all warm regions of the world. Unknown to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) except for in the pollen record identified by O.H.Selling in Heyerdhal's expedition in 1958 and Flenley 1991. A possible species in the KAO3 core of Rano Kao. (Gossen, 2010) |
